Mission Statement
Background and Training
Colleen began her coaching career long before she found the field of life
coaching and entered into formal training. As a teen at Carlsbad High,
Colleen interviewed for and was accepted into a special program called
"Advanced Communications" where she developed her skills of interactive
listening, and received training through many community programs such as
DARE, the UCSD Family Medicine Residency Program, ENABL, and the
Juvenile Justice Program. This prepared Colleen to become a Peer Advocate
to coach her peers in identifying healthy life choices and sparked her
ambition to pursue a career empowering others.
She then went on to California State University at Sacramento to receive a
Bachelor of the Arts degree in psychology, graduating cum laude. Colleen
spent the earlier part of her career in teaching and supporting children with
autism, having deep understanding though her own brother, also diagnosed
with the disability. Wanting to contribute more to all who struggle with life's
continuous challenges, she then discovered life coaching and the Academy
Specializations
Colleen has engaged these additional specialized training courses through the Academy for Coaching Excellence:
- How to Lead and Effective Group - With a working understanding of group dynamics, facilitating a
successful group or corporate team creates a win-win result
- Gifted Communication - Able to recognize needs, natural roles, strengths, and weaknesses of self and
others via MBTI Myers-Briggs Personality-Type Indicator ®*
- Befriending Your Body - Targeting management of the energy of physical vitality through creating a
healthy and highly effective partnership with one’s body

Contact Me
for Coaching Excellence, an International Coach Federation (ICF) and Accredited Coach
Training Program (ACTP) accredited school. Over the span of three years, she completed
the intense academy hands-on courses, engaged both the interpersonal and organizational
coach training, and partnered with a mentor coach to fulfill all requirements to become an
ICF certified life coach. She then began her own practice in January of 2005.
Colleen later returned as a coach volunteer to the Advanced Communications and Peer Advocate students at
Carlsbad High to share her knowledge of coaching. She also established coaching services for families of children
with special needs in the California state Regional Center system through Alta California Regional Center,
continuing services to those in need to this day. "Coaching is like blue-jeans... It goes with just about
everything," is what she would exclaim. She continues to find new programs and places that coaching can make a
difference in the lives of others.

Other special skills Colleen has acquired lie in her extensive training
working with children with disabilities. She has over ten years of training
and experience as a behavioral tutor in both public and non-public
schools and in-home programs, using applied behavior analysis
techniques. She understands well, the family dynamics and challenges of
those who have children with special needs as well as the many programs
and individuals that support them. If you are a parent receiving services through the Regional Center system
or a program currently funded by Regional Center and you are interested in either interpersonal or

Colleen is also available to speak to non-profit organizations such as
Warmline Family Resource Center on the benefits of coaching.


Colleen has also has a passion for the visual and performing arts having taken many art and dance classes
throughout her life. She has choreographed and taught modern dance pieces in high school as well as college
and was the Assistant Creative Arts Director for a Spring performance at Shasta Community College. Other
performances she engaged in while in high school and college (CSUS) were colorguard and rifle spinning
which has now been translated into the art of fire dancing. She has been active in sharing the beauty of dance
to inspire others in the community and fund raisers such as the Relay for Life.
As well as a dancer, Colleen is also an artist working with all mediums from watercolor to throwing and firing
pottery, the ancient art of henna to the modern art of digital photography. She has an artist's eye and heart,
knowing the value of creative energy in all ways. As a patron of the arts and Creativity Coach, she loves to
work with others that long to develop their creative abilities and to coach fellow artists who strive to live well
doing what inspires them.
Saving the best for last, Colleen has also been on the path of personal, spiritual growth. She comes from a
non-denominational background, recognizing the value and truth of all religions, and has been active in the
Harmony Grove Church, Unity Church, and Spiritual Center for Positive Living. She now studies the lessons
of Paramahansa Yogananda through the Self-Realization Fellowship as a spiritual guidance to living. As a
Spiritual Coach, she is able to support others in their spiritual focus and journey to meaningful, joyous living.
